Below is a full listing of each course provided during the 2018 Winter Training Session with a brief description. 

Courses descriptions for all classes being held at the upcoming academy can be found below. They describe the basic class and include the pre-requisite requirements.

Below is the most current schedule for the January 6 - 12, 2018 Winter Academy Session.

TRAINEE POSITIONS

The following trainee positions are generally avaliable at both the summer and winter academy (if a position is not listed there is not any availability for that specific position). All trainees will work on taskbooks and receive experience in their specific position. To apply click the "T" button below.

  • $45 per day (includes breakfast, lunch & dinner)
  • You must attend a minimum of 4 days
  • Each position has a maximum number of trainees (see positions below). This maximum is per day per position, not per academy.
  • http://training.nwcg.gov/sect_task_books.htm, all applicants will be notified of their acceptance (or contacted with an explanation if not accepted)
  • As this is a planned event, no taskbooks will be completed or recommendations made for final certification.
  • An evaluation with completed tasks will be provided for each trainee
  • Bring your position kit, if you have one, and your initiated PTB.

  

The next CWFIMA Training academy has been scheduled for the Summer session.

Venue: Adams State University, Alamosa, CO

  • Early Registration Fee:  $70 per day (Before April 1)
  • Regular Registration Fee: $75 per day (April 2 - May 15)
  • Late Registration Fee:  $85 per day (if afterMay 15)

 

 

Registration for the Colorado Wildland Fire and Incident Management Academy (CWFIMA) is open to anyone wishing to attend, however, priority is given to agency employees.
